Black-eyed Susan is a cheerful native wildflower with bright golden-yellow petals surrounding a dark brown-black central cone. One of the most recognizable native plants, it blooms prolifically from summer through fall. Easy to grow in full sun with average to dry soils. Self-seeds readily and naturalizes beautifully. An essential plant for pollinator and butterfly gardens. Source: NC Extension Gardener Plant Toolbox.
