Dwarf crested iris is a charming low-growing native wildflower that forms dense colonies via creeping rhizomes. Produces delicate lavender-blue flowers with yellow and white crests in early spring. Excellent groundcover for shaded woodland gardens. Prefers moist, well-drained, humus-rich soils. One of the most beloved native iris species in the Southeast.
